Death of HRH Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh

Wroughton Parish Council’s flag is at half-mast and it will remain there during the period of national mourning  as a sign of respect to His Royal Highness Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh.

Councillor David Renard, Leader of Swindon Borough Council, said: “It is incredibly sad to hear of the death of His Royal Highness, The Duke of Edinburgh. Our thoughts are with Her Majesty and the Royal Family at this very difficult time. A condolence book has been made available on the Council’s website for any resident who would like to leave a tribute or comment. These books will be archived so future generations will be able to see how the death was marked in Swindon.”

Any resident who would like to leave a tribute or comment should go to www.swindon.gov.uk or alternatively https://royal.uk/

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Funeral will take place on Saturday 17 April 2021 at 3pm in St George’s Chapel, Windsor. The laying of floral tributes is discouraged and residents are asked to avoid gathering at landmarks at this time due to the ongoing risk of the COVID-19 pandemic.
