30 Jul Information shared on behalf of SBC about waste and recycling collections in Swindon
Last week we announced that we’ve taken the difficult decision to temporarily change the frequency of our recycling box collection service due to a combination of employee shortages and the need for individuals to self-isolate when alerted by the NHS COVID-19 app.
This is a situation which is affecting a number of councils and businesses across the country and has been compounded by the current UK-wide shortage of HGV drivers, meaning we’re unable to recruit agency drivers to replace staff who currently cannot work.
Read the Q&A on our website to find out more about the temporary changes. If a resident is yet to have their collection, they can find out when their next recycling box collection will be on the ‘disruption to recycling collections’ webpage.
Residents can book a slot at the HWRC, including evening appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays on the SBC website
We’re keeping the situation under regular review with the aim to return to our normal service as quickly as we can. We’ll communicate any changes with you.
Please note: all our other waste and recycling services (i.e. black wheelie bin, blue bag, plastic recycling, food waste, garden waste and clinical waste collections) are continuing to run as normal.
