
24 Dec New Tier 3 Restrictions from 26/12/20
After bringing forward a review of the Tier allocations in England, the Government has today announced that Swindon will be moved into the Tier 3 ‘Very High’ alert level from 00:01am on Boxing Day (26 December).
It follows a recent sharp rise in Swindon’s case rate from 107.6 per 100,000 on 12 December to 191.7 per 100,000 today (23 December). There have been 426 new COVID-19 cases in Swindon over the past 7 days.
This means that from 00:01am on Boxing Day:
You can’t mix indoors, in private gardens or in most outdoor venues, except with your household or bubble.
You can meet in a group of up to six in other outdoor spaces, such as parks and playgrounds.
You must avoid travelling outside of Swindon as much as possible except for work, education, medical attention or if you have caring responsibilities.
Shops, gyms and personal care services (such as hairdressing) can stay open, as can swimming pools.
Bars, pubs, cafes and restaurants must stay closed, except for delivery and takeaway. Food or alcohol purchased can’t be consumed on any part of that premises, including beer gardens.
Bowling alleys, cinemas, theatres and indoor play areas must close.
Collective worship can take place – with no mixing outside your bubble.
Weddings and civil partnership ceremonies can take place with up to 15 guests, receptions are not permitted.
Funerals can continue with up to 30 in attendance, 15 people can attend wakes or linked ceremonial events.
Sports fans cannot attend events in stadiums.
Indoor entertainment venues – such as bowling alleys and cinemas must stay closed.
