02 Apr PLEASE DON’T GO HUNGRY!
Wroughton Parish Council understands that with the ongoing cost of living crisis, some residents are struggling to put food on the table at home. Whether you are still waiting for benefits, unable to work, only feeding the family and going without yourself – there are many reasons why people are unable to afford to eat every day. Swindon Food Collective is the local food bank that is serving the many Swindon and District communities by feeding people who are facing a crisis. They support people who do not have enough money to provide food for themselves and their family, as well as supporting local charities and initiatives. So please don’t go hungry!

Wroughton Parish Council has also arranged with Citizens Advice for their Financial First Aiders to come into Wroughton Library once a month. They can provide advice and help you check whether there are any benefits which you could be claiming, or whether there are any ways in which you can reduce your expenditure by eg: accessing cheaper broadband. We post the dates and times the Financial First Aiders are due in on our website and we try to share this information as widely as possible on local fb groups.
Whilst you may not need a warm space during the warmer months, Wroughton Library will continue to be a welcome space, where you can find company and conversation if you’d like, or just sit quietly if you’d prefer. We always have free tea, coffee, squash (and usually biscuits) available as well as a warm welcome.
