PRIORS HILL TRIANGLE AREA – NO PARKING BY GRASS BANKS (14 JUNE) TOMORROW PLEASE

Wroughton Parish Council will be cutting the raised grass areas on Priors Hill near to the Swan pub tomorrow and ask residents to find alternative parking so that these works can take place. Our Flora and Fauna Working Party, which includes residents, parish councillors and Wiltshire Wildlife Trust had identified this site as part of a biodiversity trial, along with other locations around Wroughton.  The trial’s purpose was to see how these areas can rewild and support insect and bees whilst maintaining mowed visibility areas to ensure safe vehicle movements where relevant.

Due to resident complaints we will strim the area tomorrow but are keen to identify and trial other sites next year which we could leave to rewild and monitor.  If you can think of a site within Wroughton which might be suitable for this, please contact projects@wroughton.gov.uk.

Please do have a look at our wildflower planting trial on the right of Church Hill as you approach the Parish church.  We have extended the area this year and planted more wildflower seeds and are hoping for a magnificent display again this year.
