Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA)

Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA)

Swindon Borough Council is in the process of reviewing the Local Plan and in accordance with Government requirements Swindon Borough Council is undertaking a Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA). Swindon Borough Council has issued a ‘call for sites’ which allows the public and private land owners an opportunity to submit potential residential or economic development sites. For more information on the SHELAA please visit the attached link (SHELAA).

Wroughton Parish Council is engaging with Swindon Borough Council this week to discuss the sites identified. We hope this will be one of many such meetings where we have opportunities to share our “local expertise” and steer towards the best outcome we can. We hope to forge closer links with SBC to help prevent piecemeal developments that do not contribute to our village infrastructure.

In the meantime, we encourage you to view this interactive map which shows the sites being considered at this stage, comments on specific sites should be sent to forwardplanning@swindon.gov.uk by 5:00pm Monday, 12 November 2018, clearly indicating the site reference number.
