17 Sep Tildesley Trail
Today marked a very special occasion – the opening of the Tildesley Trail which connects the footpath network at the rear of Falkirk Road field. A highly respected local man, the late Brian Tildesley was behind so much of what makes Wroughton a great place to live including conservation activities, tree planting schemes, fundraising to buy Kings Farm Wood, the duck race and Christmas lights switch on to name but a few. The creation of the local footpath network was a championed by Brian for many years and was recently completed. Family, friends, colleagues gathered today for the launch of the trail with Brian’s wife Margaret Tildesley cutting the ribbon. A special cake was made and enjoyed as we reflected on Brian’s lasting legacy. Maria Draper-Nuevo of The Ridgeway School presented Margaret with a beautiful decorated bird box made by pupils who have been involved in designing and creating the signage and artwork for the trails.
