WPC and Cllr Cathy Martyn Update – Road Maintenance

In addition to the below update form Ward Councillors, WPC encourage members of the public to report pot holes directly to SBC using the following link https://www.swindon.gov.uk/info/20040/road_safety_maintenance_and_repairs/339/report_a_pothole  or email Ward Councillors directly (see below)
WPC have also been chasing SBC for urgent action on the most severe issues recently raised in particular, Priors Hill, Brimble Hill and Chiseldon and will continue to do so

Update from Cllr Cathy Martyn:
Potholes on the road between the Toll House at the top of Brimble Hill, and Chiseldon.
Both the Borough Councillors for Wroughton, and the Borough Councillors for Chiseldon have raised the poor state of this stretch of road, and the dreadful potholes which have given rise to reports of damage to vehicles & burst tyres. We’ve been advised that the Highways team will be out repairing them tomorrow, and that this is the first opportunity since before Christmas as the tarmac plant has only just re-opened for deliveries. Fingers crossed this will resolve the immediate problem.
Cllr David Martyn is contacting the Cabinet Member for Highway Operations to ask whether a higher priority is given to repairing potholes in roads which are unlit, have no pavements, and have speed limits above 30mph, as we have many such roads in Wroughton & Wichelstowe, as do Chiseldon & Wanborough. And if not, he’s requested that this additoinal priority should be considered. He will post when he receives a reply.
If you have any specific queries or concerns in the meantime, please email us – contact details below. Thankyou.
